On Robust and Efficient Finite Volume Solver for Steady Euler Equations

Abstract: In this talk, a framework of finite volume solutions of steady Euler equations will be introduced. The two main components of the framework include the Newton method for the linearization of the Euler equations, and a geometrical multigrid method for solving the derived linear system. Several numerical issues will be discussed towards the robustness and efficiency of the framework, including the solution reconstruction, mesh adaptivity, curved boundary, etc. The performance of our numerical framework will be demonstrated by a variety of examples.
